Habey USA announced the PRO-6820 embedded system. The box computer supports the Intel 3rd Generation Ivy Bridge Quad Core i3/i5/i7 processor. It features up to 8GB of memory, six USB slots, two PS2 ports, externally accessible 8-bit GPIO port, four COM ports, six LAN ports, mic-in, audio-out, CF card socket, and an externally accessible 2.5″ SATA HDD. The Habey PRO-6820 fanless system is available now.
VIA Technologies introduced APC Rock and Paper. APC Rock is a board for prototyping projects. It is a complete redesign of the original APC module. APC Paper, which features a recycled cardboard case, is an embedded computer for connecting to the Internet without the need for Windows applications. Both Rock and Paper run a custom Android system built for keyboard and mouse input.
VIA Labs introduced the four-port VIA VL805 and the two-port VIA VL806 USB 3.0 Host controllers. The VL805 and VL806 help motherboard and embedded system manufacturers to add USB 3.0 to their product lines. The new devices enable a PCI Express-equipped platform to interface with multiple SuperSpeed USB peripherals devices simultaneously for transfers rates up to 5Gbps while retaining full backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
