Analog Devices Debuts AD9117, AD9122, AD9739 Transmit DACs for Aerospace, Defense

Analog Devices introduced the 14-bit dual-channel AD9117, 16-bit dual-channel AD9122 and 14-bit single-channel AD9739 transmit D/A converters (DACs). They feature extended operating temperature ranges and high-reliability packaging. The transmit DACs were designed for signal synthesis applications, including pulse-modulated waveform generation and for synthesizing the modulated carrier in quadrature digital architectures. The DACs are ideal for radar, secure communications, avionics, and other defense electronics applications. All three devices are available now. The AD9117BCPZN is priced at $9.50, the AD9122SCPZ is $41.40, and the AD9739BBC is $48.16.

GE Intelligent Platforms ADEPT3000 Automatic Video Tracker

GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the ADEPT3000 miniature rugged automatic video tracker. The ADEPT3000 is designed for the detection and surveillance of a moving object. The SWaP optimized automatic video tracking solution measures 34mm x 24mm (about the size of a microprocessor), weighs about six grams, and consumes minimal power (about 1 watt). The commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ADEPT3000 is ideal for small unmanned aerial vehicles and man portable devices.

Actel RTAX-DSP FPGA Devices Qualify for MIL-STD-883 Class B

Kontron Acquires AP Labs Group

Through its US subsidiary, Kontron has acquired 100 percent of US company AP Labs Group, which is based in San Diego, California. The group, which has two operating companies, is regarded as one of the leading system integrators in the areas of defense and aerospace. Since its inception in 1984 the company has firmly established itself on the market for the development and series production of highly complex and robust computer systems, as well as specialized applications. Kontron anticipates that both new subsidiaries will make an annual revenue of USD 30 million. Kontron intends to integrate AP Labs with its North American headquarters, which is also based in San Diego. Kontron has access to cost-efficient, local production capacities as the result of the company AP Parpro Inc., which also forms part of the group and is located in Mexico, close to Kontron’s NA headquarters.
