OKI Announces FSE Face Sensing Engine for Embedded Systems

Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) announced its launch of a face recognition middleware for the surveillance market. The "FSE[tm] (Face Sensing Engine[tm]) Ver.4" for embedded systems can detect faces and identify specific human beings from surveillance videos. OKI plans to offer an embedded video recognition module with a human tracking function shortly, and when this module is combined with the system, once the face is detected from the video, the system can continue to track that specific person through other features, even when his/her face is not seen on the camera.

American Portwell Launches PCS-8230 In-vehicle Infotainment System

QuantaDyn Selects Quantum3D Independence IDX 4000 Image Generators

ADLINK Technology Rolls Out ExpressCard to PXI Extension Kit

ADLINK Technology Inc. (TAIEX:6166) introduced a new multi-slot ExpressCard®-to-PXI extension system consisting of the EC-8560 ExpressCard® and corresponding PXI-8565 PXI card. The EC-8560/PXI-8565 extends more PXI slots from an ExpressCard®-based laptop computer via a shielded cable connection up to seven meters (23 feet) in length. PXI devices installed in the extension PXI chassis behave and work as if they are directly installed in the host system and do not require any additional driver or software installation.
