Conexant CX93610 DIFT JPEG Encoder, and CX20752 and CX20754 HD Audio Codecs

Conexant Systems introduced the CX93610 DIFT JPEG encoder, and CX20752 and CX20754 HD audio codecs. The CX93610 is a monolithic mixed signal ASSP that features a 656 camera interface, optional microphone input, low cost, low power and high image compression capability. The CX20752 and CX20754 features integrated stereo filterless class-D amplifier with patented Common Mode Scrambling technology capable of driving 2W-rms per channel at 1% THD+N into 4 ohm load. The CX93610 is priced at $5.00 each (in 1000 unit quantities). Pricing for the CX20752 and CX20754 start at $1.24 and $1.54, respectively (in 10 K quantities).

Fresco Microchip Unveils FM5150ARF Silicon Tuner for Global Hybrid Television

Fresco Microchip introduced the FM5150A silicon tuner for global hybrid terrestrial and cable television. The FM5150A seamlessly interfaces to TV SoCs to optimize tuner CAN and on-board designs. Samples of the Fresco FM5150A are available now for selected customers. The chip is the latest addition to Fresco’s silicon tuner product family.

WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 SoC Supports Android 4.0

WonderMedia Technologies introduced the PRIZM WM8950 SoC. The PRIZM WM8950 features a 800MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, ARM Mali-400 3D graphics processor, built-in Fast Ethernet MAC, interface with Wi-Fi, and 3+G and Bluetooth. The WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 platform is ideal for Smart TV, SmartStream for wireless display and multimedia streaming, networked projectors, digital signage, and thin clients. The WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 chip is sampling now. Volume shipment is expected in the first quarter of 2012.

Microchip MTD6505 Resistor Programmable Motor Driver

Microchip Technology introduced their MTD6505 standalone, resistor-programmable driver. The MTD6505 motor driver is a 3-phase full-wave sensorless driver for brushless DC (BLDC) motors. It features 180° sinusoidal drive, high torque output and silent drive. The Microchip MTD6505 motor driver is sampling now in a 10-pin UDFN package. The IC is priced at $0.57 each (5,000-unit pricing). Volume production is expected to be available on December 21, 2011.

Summit SMB346 and SMB347 Programmable Li-Ion Battery Chargers

Summit Microelectronics rolled out the SMB346 and SMB347 programmable Li-Ion battery charger integrated circuits. The new ICs offers up to 2.5A charge/system current with dual input/dual output CurrentPath technology for operation with a dead or missing battery. The Summit charger ICs are available now. The SMB346 is priced at $1.27 and the SMB347 is priced at $1.36 each (quantities of 10,000 units). The new chips are ideal for smartphones, tablets, digital still cameras, digital camcorders, wireless routers, portable media/MP3 players (PMP), portable GPS navigation equipment, and portable game consoles/controllers.

Microchip MCP9808 Digital Temperature Sensor

Microchip Technology introduced their MCP9808 silicon temperature sensor. The digital temperature sensor converts temperatures between -20°C and +100°C to a digital word with ±0.5°C accuracy. The chip features high temperature resolution of 12 bits (0.0625 degrees Celsius/LSB), shutdown, under/over-temperature monitor and critical-temperature alert. The Microchip MCP9808 is available now in 8-pin MSOP and 2×3 mm DFN packages. Prices start at $0.84 each (5,000-unit quantities). The IC is ideal for thermostats, personal computers and industrial/automotive applications.

TI ADS5294 14-bit, 8-channel ADC Offers Great Noise Performance and Low Power

Texas Instruments recently introduced their ADS5294 analog to digital converter. The TI ADC features the best noise performance and lowest power octal-channel in a 14-bit ADC at 80 MSPS. The Texas Instruments ADS5294 ADC is available now in a 12-mm x 12-mm, 80-pin QFP package. It is is priced at $84 (quantities of 1,000). The TI ADS5294 analog to digital converter is ideal for medical imaging, radar, communications, test and measurement and other multi-channel data acquisition applications.

Microchip MCP795WXX/BXX Real-Time Clock/Calendar Family

Microchip Technology rolled out their MCP795WXX/BXX family of stand-alone Real-Time Clock/Calendar (RTCC) devices. The MCP795WXX/BXX features a 10 MHz SPI interface, non-volatile memory, millisecond alarms, two event-detect inputs, three types of non-volatile memory, and automatic battery switchover. The Microchip MCP795WXX RTCC family is available now in 14-pin SOIC and TSSOP packages. The MCP795BXX RTCC devices will be available in mid-December in the same package options. Prices start at $1.18 each (10,000-unit quantities). The RTCC devices are ideal for smart-energy, home-appliance and communications applications.

ZMD ZSSC3131, ZSSC3135, ZSSC3136 and ZSSC3138 Signal Conditioner ICs

ZMD announced the ZSSC3131, ZSSC3135, ZSSC3136 and ZSSC3138 smart sensor signal conditioner ICs. The devices are designed for the signal conditioning of resistive bridge sensing elements, like silicon or ceramic-based piezo-resistive transducers or thin-/thick-film or gauge-type sensor elements. The ZSSC3131 is priced at $4.28 (€ 2.95) in volumes of 1,000 devices. The ZSSC3135 is priced at $4.39 (€ 3.03), the ZSSC3136 is $ 4.62 (€ 3.19), and the ZSSC3138 is $4.71 (€ 3.25). The new ZMDI chips are ideal for automotive and industrial pressure sensing applications such as HVAC, cooling, pneumatic brakes and other hydraulic systems.
