Sans Digital, a leading provider of high performance storage subsystems, has released the first JBOD rackmount to overcome the lack of monitoring ability when utilizing a RAID controller card. The AccuSTOR AS212X2 2U 12-bay SAS enclosure is designed with a built-in selectable switch that allows hardware monitoring via various popular brands of RAID controllers interfaces. This new monitoring feature further simplifies the management process by allowing system administrators to access hard drive status, as well as power supply and cooling fan information.
Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of customized, performance-critical components for wireless systems and other advanced electronics applications, announced its new reduced-size HD RooTenna® enclosure. The new integrated unit is designed to accommodate smaller-sized equipment requirements for broadband wireless access (BWA) suppliers and carriers who deploy industrial WiFi / WLAN / WiMax / LTE systems, mesh networks, Wi-PoP base stations, and/or client antennas using Point-to-Point and WISP applications.
Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY), a leading provider of high-performance, embedded computing solutions for image, sensor, and signal processing applications, announced availability of the Ensemble(TM) MCH2020 MicroTCA Carrier Hub and a 12-slot MicroTCA chassis — system components that can be combined with a wide range of current AdvancedMC mezzanine cards (AMCs) to create powerful, small form factor solutions.
Optima EPS, an Elma Company, and leading designer and manufacturer of cabinet enclosures for electronic systems, has announced a new cabinet enclosure for scientific and medical instrumentation applications. The Optima cabinet is designed with several features in mind for scientific and medical instrumentation. This includes a flexible, modular design that allows a wide range of shelves, rails, perforated panels, wiring duct, divider panels, and ergonomics. DIN rails for mounting instrumentation are prevalent.
Elma Electronic Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, has announced an economic MicroTCA system platform in desktop or rackmount formats called the EcoBox[tm]. The chassis opens up MicroTCA to be competitive in more cost-conscious industrial, transportation, enterprise and other applications. The first chassis in the line is a 6-slot single module unit with 1 MCH and 5 AMC slots. Instead of using a MicroTCA Power Module, which can be comparatively expensive, the system platform uses a standard 300W ATX power supply. The IPMI bus for voltage supply and control is integrated on an active backplane.
