EDA revenues increase in Q3 2013

The latest EDA Consortium’s Market Statistics Service (MSS) report indicates EDA revenues increased 6.8 percent in Q3 2013 over Q3 2012. CAE and SIP were the big revenue categories both years in the Americas and APAC, but all areas listed in the report showed growth.

The MSS report shows areas of growth from most to least in Q3 2013 as:

  • CAE – $644M in Q3 2013, $632M in Q3 2012
  • SIP – $477M in Q3 2013, $423M in Q3 2012
  • IC Physical Design & Verification – $363M in Q3 2013, $327M in Q3 2012
  • PCB & MCM, and Services – $93M in Q3 2013, $85M in Q3 2012

All areas show positive growth ranging from 1.7 percent to 12.7 percent except for PCB & MCM, which had a -0.3 percent negative growth rate.

The Americas are leading the EDA revenue growth followed by Japan, APAC, EMEA, and Japan.
