Analog Devices Debuts 14-bit AD9645 and 12-bit AD9635 Dual A/D Converters

Analog Devices (ADI) AD9645 14-bit dual A/D converter

Analog Devices announced the AD9645 14-bit dual A/D converter and the AD9635 12-bit dual A/D converter. The AD9645 and AD9635 are 80 MSPS/125 MSPS ADC devices with an on-chip sample-and-hold circuit designed for low cost, low power, small size, and ease of use. The ADI analog-to-digital converters operates at a conversion rate of up to 125 MSPS and is optimized for dynamic performance and low power in applications where a small package size is critical.

The dual AD9645 A/D converter reduces total power consumption by 22% over competing solutions. The AD9645 converter is available in a 5-mm × 5-mm package, which represents a 30% space savings over the nearest competitor. The new data converter meets the performance and size requirements of the latest 3G and 4G multi-standard cellular infrastructure equipment, such as CDMA2000, WB-CDMA, LTE, TD-SCDMA and multi-carrier GSM. Other applications include battery-powered, hand-held instruments, scopes and portable medical devices.

The dual AD9645 A/D converter consumes only 122 mW/channel at 125 MSPS (mega samples per second) and features SFDR (spurious-free dynamic range) performance of 91 dBc at 70 MHz. With an IF sampling range of up to of 200 MHz, the device is designed for use in multi-mode digital receiver architectures.

The AD9635 is a 12-bit, pin-compatible version of the 14-bit AD9645. The device has sampling rates from 20 MSPS to 125 MSPS.
