Conexant CX93610 DIFT JPEG Encoder, and CX20752 and CX20754 HD Audio Codecs

Posted by Ken Cheung in Components on Friday, January 13, 2012

Conexant Systems introduced the CX93610 DIFT JPEG encoder, and CX20752 and CX20754 HD audio codecs. The CX93610 is a monolithic mixed signal ASSP that features a 656 camera interface, optional microphone input, low cost, low power and high image compression capability. The CX20752 and CX20754 features integrated stereo filterless class-D amplifier with patented Common Mode Scrambling technology capable of driving 2W-rms per channel at 1% THD+N into 4 ohm load. The CX93610 is priced at $5.00 each (in 1000 unit quantities). Pricing for the CX20752 and CX20754 start at $1.24 and $1.54, respectively (in 10 K quantities).

The CX93610 encoder offers a variety of specialized JPEG encoding techniques to highly compress and save image data in an internal 512KB/256KB frame buffer. A 2:1 and 4:1 scaler is available for image re-sizing, with a 4:2:0 sub-sampling conversion available to further reduce image file sizes — by up to 99%. With a microphone input and programmable allocated buffering, a 2- or 4-bit ADPCM audio session can be recorded simultaneously during image captures, providing a complete A/V solution with a flexible frame buffer for audio and video data storage. The CX93610 encoder is ideal for monitoring and surveillance camera applications, including PIR sensor with video, video intercom/door phones, baby monitors and remote home monitoring.

The CX20752 and CX20754 codecs are compliant with Intel’s high-definition audio specification 1.1, and the chips’ audio fidelity exceeds Microsoft WLP 4.0 desktop and notebook premium logo requirements. The new amplifiers feature two 24-bits stereo DACs that operate at sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz and two 24-bits stereo ADCs that operate at sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz. Both HD audio codecs can support multi-streaming and real-time communications applications. The CX20752 and CX20754 are ideal for high-quality audio for the mobile PC market, including notebooks, ultrabooks and tablets.
