IAR Systems Introduces KickStart Kit for Toshiba ARM Cortex-M3
IAR Systems® AB, the world’s leading independent supplier of software development tools for the embedded systems sector, announces the release of a new, low-cost development kit for the ARM® Cortex-M3[tm] in partnership with the Toshiba® Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6502). Toshiba became the first Japanese semiconductor manufacturer to develop a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 core-based microcontroller unit (MCU) when it released the TMPM330FDFG in late 2008. It leveraged the Cortex-M3 core to create a high-performance, low-power general-purpose MCU device with a large Flash memory, a real time clock, a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and a 3-channel SIO/UART, all housed in a compact LQFP package. These features mean that the TMPM330FDFG is optimized for use in consumer, industrial, security and general low power applications.
RTI Data Distribution Service Integrates with Wind River VxWorks MILS
Real-Time Innovations (RTI) announced that the company has collaborated with Wind River (NASDAQ: WIND) to integrate RTI Data Distribution Service with Wind River’s VxWorks MILS Platform 2.0. The VxWorks MILS Platform allows a single processor to host applications running at multiple security levels (for example, secret and top secret), reducing space, weight and power requirements compared to the traditional approach of segregating security levels across different processors. RTI Data Distribution Service complements the VxWorks MILS Platform by enabling applications running in different secure partitions, or on different processors, to easily communicate and share data using the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) specification.
IBASE Launches MI945X Mini-ITX Board with Intel GM45 Chipset
IBASE Technology (TASDAQ: 8050), a leading Mini-ITX board manufacturer, releases the MI945X that is based on the Mobile Intel® GM45 chipset and Intel® Core[tm] 2 Duo processors. With up to 1066MHz front side bus and DDR3 memory technology support, MI945X enables outstanding performance and faster data transfers required in computing environments such as interactive gaming, security surveillance, POS, kiosk, industrial automation and medical imaging.
