Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity[tm] , announced the release of its CPCI6200 CompactPCI® single-board computer (SBC), equipped with the latest Freescale MPC8572 PowerQUICC III dual core processor. Combining scalable, server-class performance with leading-edge I/O and memory, the board is designed for advanced telecom, defense/aerospace, industrial and medical applications.
The dual-core processor built into the CPCI6200 enables both asymmetric and symmetric multiprocessing for maximum processing flexibility and efficiency. The blade supports up to 4GB of dual channel, double data rate DDR3 memory, the fastest and most energy-efficient memory currently available. The CPCI6200 is also configured with 512MB of non-volatile MRAM, high-speed, non-volatile memory to protect data in the event of a power loss or system failure. In addition to its innovative processing and memory features, the CPCI6200 offers a leading edge I/O profile, including four Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interfaces, two serial ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Two PMC/XMC sites enable plug-on customization to fit application requirements.

The CPCI6200 supports the intelligent platform management interface (IPMI) specification and offers several value-added features, including the PLX6466 PCI-to-PCI bridge (PPB) for universal CompactPCI system or peripheral-slot functionality. The board is fully hot-swappable per PICMG® 2.1 specifications and also supports PICMG 2.9 System Management and PICMG 2.16 CompactPCI Packet Switching Backplane specifications. The board’s low power requirements (less than 29 W) also make the board an ideal solution for thermally constrained environments.
