Trendsmedia, the events and publishing division of Yankee Group, announced 4G World, the world’s largest conference and expo focused on the mobile broadband and mobile Internet markets. The four-day event will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL on September 15-18, 2009. 4G World is the first conference and expo covering the entire landscape of next generation mobile networks including anywhere Internet access, mobile content, applications and transactions. To reflect the scope of the 4G ecosystem, WiMAX World, Mobile Internet World, and the 15th Annual International Symposium of the Wireless Communications Association International (WCAI) will be co-located at 4G World.
4G World will feature keynote presentations from industry leading 4G network operators who will examine the business and technical challenges of 4G network evolution, including the roles of mobile WiMAX, WiFi, HSPA and LTE technologies, and the rollout of new services and applications. Senior executives from leading network technology and software vendors, as well as other independent experts, will also present their views on the current state and future of 4G and the mobile Internet.
Trendsmedia has expanded the conference agenda to include executive summits, workshops, training and other ancillary programs to ensure comprehensive coverage of 4G business and technology solutions. In addition, the WCAI will be hosting their long running and highly successful 15th Annual International Symposium at 4G World. The WCAI will collaborate with Yankee Group in producing a Global Development Committee Summit on Wireless Broadband in Emerging Markets and the WCAI Broadband and Wireless Policy Summit at 4G World on September 15, 2009.
According to Eliot Weinman, conference co-chair and president of Trendsmedia, “Last year, WiMAX World and Mobile Internet World together drew over 14,000 attendees to our global series of events. We have heard loud and clear from our attendees and sponsors that the time has come to combine these events into 4G World. Mobile operators, along with the vast ecosystem of other stakeholders around the world, want one place to go to network and learn how mobile Internet based 4G networks will fundamentally transform communications as we know it. Trendsmedia is extremely excited about making this announcement, and in offering a world class conference program and expo that will help the industry accelerate its move towards 4G.”
Trendsmedia is pleased to acknowledge the industry support of 4G World. Currently, there are over 100 sponsors and exhibitors, including the official corporate host Motorola, and premier sponsors Alvarion, Juniper Networks, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nortel, Redline Communications and Samsung.
