Mobius Photonics to Share UV Results at SPIE Photonics West 2009

Posted by Ken Cheung in Events, Training on Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Mobius Photonics, Inc. will deliver the newest results for UV performance, based on the company’s proprietary fiber amplifier-based UV laser platform, next month at the SPIE Photonics West 2009 Conference. The presentation (Paper 7193-14 & 7195-14) takes place on Monday, January 26, 2009, at the San Jose, California, Convention Center.

The Mobius Photonics team’s work, to be presented by Manuel J. Leonardo, will demonstrate the scalability of a novel air-cooled platform to powers above 30W of UV (355nm).

“Besides demonstrating unparalleled performance, the results demonstrate the potential of our uniquely scalable and flexible technology platform utilizing fiber technology,” Dr. Laura Smoliar, CEO of Mobius Photonics, Inc., said. “The SPIE presentation will be the first public discussion of the leading-edge performance that has captivated companies using fiber-based laser sources.”

About Mobius Photonics
Founded in 2005, Mobius Photonics, Inc. is the leader in commercial fiber-based laser sources for the visible and UV. Mobius is made up of industry veterans who previously created two successful laser companies, a management team that combines in-depth understanding of customer needs with manufacturing experience, and a product development team that pushes the state of the art by working in close collaboration with suppliers and customers from around the world. Current products feature both fundamental (IR) and harmonically wavelength converted (green and UV) outputs. These products are based on a pulsed master-oscillator, fiber-power-amplifier (MOFPA) architecture. Applications for these laser sources include wafer singulation, material processing, semiconductor inspection and repair, via drilling, and medical therapy.
