Digital Airways announces that manufacturer Sagem Mobiles has used its Kaleido user interface solution to power the new Porsche Design mobile phone P’9522. The P’9522 is the result of a cooperation between the French cell-phone maker and Porsche Design, a luxury brand with particular focus on technically inspired products. Using Digital Airways’ Kaleido user interface technology has enabled Sagem Mobiles to undertake rapid product development to meet the specific needs of the P’9522, and easily integrate the touch screen experience to a fully-featured mobile phone.

Porsche Design mobile phone P'9522The Porsche Design P’9522 is milled from a single solid aluminum block and a single sheet of scratchproof glass, its finish is pure and sleek. It comes with a 5 megapixel camera, 2.8 inch 400 x 240 pixels display, WiFi, a fingerprint reader, GPS and a 2 GB microSD card. The 2.8-inch full touch screen is powered by SAGEM’s Touch UI. Instead of using the touch screen for text input, you can use the physical numeric keypad below the screen.

The second mobile phone from Porsche Design, the P’9522, reflects the brand’s clear design language and lives up to its promise of blending together high quality materials, top of the range workmanship and innovative technology.

“The fact that Sagem Mobiles has been using Kaleido since 2005 is a clear endorsement of the quality and value of Digital Airways’ UI solution,” said Philippe Silberzahn, CEO of Digital Airways. “They have raised the bar with the superb P’9522, and we were delighted to meet this challenge.”

The Kaleido user interface technology already powers millions of devices worldwide, and is used by a growing number of manufacturers and ODMs. Thanks to Kaleido, innovative phones offering sophisticated user experiences have been introduced to the market in record time.

On sale mid December 2008, the premium mobile phone will be available worldwide in Porsche Design Stores and in specialist shops.
