Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that Walden C. Rhines, Chairman and CEO, will be giving the keynote address at the GSA Semiconductor Leaders Forum on November 5, 2008 in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Rhines will present "Common Wisdom versus Reality in the Semiconductor Industry." which will address the widely held belief that the electronics industry is entering a mature phase and the glory days of the high tech innovation are over.

Rhines will examine the historical data and trends of the semiconductor industry answering questions that include: Does this outlook agree with reality? Is the worldwide semiconductor industry truly consolidating? What about the EDA industry? Will excess semiconductor manufacturing capacity fuel a semiconductor recession through accelerating price reductions? Is the cost of 65/45nm technology slowing its adoption in new designs?
