Francois Armand, Senior Architect for VirtualLogix, Inc., a recognized leader in Real-Time Virtualization[tm], will present a 90-minute class on virtualization for embedded and real-time systems at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston, Mass. Serving as a primer to the concept of virtualization, the class will assist attendees in classifying virtualization’s various approaches by providing a taxonomy and describing the different types of virtualization available. Armand will specifically discuss the properties required for virtualization in embedded and real-time systems, reviewing the merits of various approaches, including dual-OS solutions.
Pointing to real use-cases on different processors and product ranges will help Armand in broadening the description of virtualization to encompass tools, configuration, debug and management. He will also cover advanced usages of embedded virtualization, including within highly secure environments.
“Virtualization for Embedded and Real-Time Systems”
Tuesday, October 28, 2008
3:45 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time
Embedded Systems Conference Boston 2008
Sunday, October 26 through Thursday, October 30, 2008
Hynes Convention Center, Room 209
As part of the virtualization track, attendees of this year’s Embedded Systems Conference in Boston will learn about various forms of virtualization. Armand’s session will help them to sort through various solutions to obtain a more accurate picture of what is required for successful embedded and real-time virtualization.
Additionally, an overview of the embedded virtualization landscape will be presented at the conference. Experienced as a senior architect for VirtualLogix’s real-time virtualization product line, Armand will provide insight into VirtualLogix VLX for Embedded Systems, a customizable solution that enables the simultaneous execution of multiple operating systems on performance-critical, small footprint, single and multicore processor platforms.
