The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) announces that Power Technology Specialist Chris Cooper will present at the inaugural Embedded Power Conference on September 17, 2008, at the Marriott Hotel in San Jose, California. Cooper will present “An Alternative to Expensive Point-of-Load Modules” – an introduction to the new Power Module Reference Design (PMRD-0012).
Soon to be released by Avnet and featuring the National Semiconductor LM3495 Powerwise® buck regulator, the PMRD fills the gap between design efforts for discrete solutions and off-the-shelf modules. The PMRD architecture is specifically designed with flexibility in mind, supporting a wide input and output range. Attendees will learn how the PMRD can help lower design cost and effort, minimize risk, and gain the necessary design flexibility to meet multiple board-level power design requirements.
“Chris’s session offers designers the opportunity to preview the new PMRD from Avnet. This new reference design featuring National Semiconductor will truly benefit customers because it offers them design flexibility at a low cost,” said Marc Gsand, vice president of technical marketing for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “Using the new PMRD can lower bill-of-materials costs and help engineers avoid the risk and added effort associated with discrete power designs.”
The Embedded Power Conference is a two-day conference featuring interactive presentations, sponsored tutorials, keynote and industry addresses, and exhibition.
