PFU Systems announces the availability of engineering samples of their Computer On Module (COM) product based on the Intel® Atom[tm] processor. The Plug-N-Run Ga module is a fully COM Express Basic Type 2 compliant module. Complementing last year’s announcement of the Plug-N-Run[tm] E1, a server level COM Express Extended module and the Plug-N-Run[tm] G5, a COM Express Basic form factor module available in a variety of Intel® Core[tm]2 Duo processors and the existing Plug-N-Run[tm] G4 COM Express module, the Plug-N-Run Ga fills out the lower end of PFU Systems’ COM Express product line.
“The Ga module provides our customers with the latest in Intel performance per watt in a price competitive standards-based module with PFU’s proven reliability and superior thermal solutions,” stated James Payne, PFU System’s Manager of Embedded Marketing. “The Ga module will provide our customers with an Intel Architecture package capable of fan-less operation.”
The Plug-N-Run Ga module will be fully COM Express compliant in form factor and features including legacy as well as state-of-the-art interfaces. Those interested in early access should contact their PFU Systems representative as soon as possible. A more complete public announcement of technical details and production availability will be made later this month.
