Coherent Logix Achieves First Pass Success with Extreme DA GoldTime

Extreme DA[tm] customer Coherent Logix achieved first-pass silicon success for the hx2100, the latest in its line of HyperX-based digital signal processors (DSPs). Coherent Logix used Extreme DA GoldTime[tm] exclusively for full-chip timing analysis of its design before manufacture. Failed silicon means a significant penalty in development time and non-recurring engineering costs as designs must be re-worked to achieve silicon success. Performing an accurate and complete timing analysis is now required in IC design to ensure that designs will produce working chips. Visit Extreme DA in booth 1364 at the 45th Design Automation Conference in Anaheim, Calif., June 9 – 12.

Extreme DA is the emerging leader in new-generation timing analysis software that improves the performance and yield of ICs. Coherent Logix develops software-defined signal processing solutions that deliver extremely high computational bandwidth and ultra-low power performance. The company serves numerous signal processing markets including communications, broadcast, multimedia, data acquisition, and military applications.

According to Michael Solka, vice-president of engineering at Coherent Logix, “We relied on Extreme DA GoldTime to tape out our latest 90-nanometer DSP design with first-pass silicon success. Even though the HyperX design has over 10-million cell instances, the GoldTime analysis was completed in just four hours and enabled rapid improvement of circuit performance. Our confidence in GoldTime has been affirmed.”

Mustafa Celik, CEO of Extreme DA, said, “At 90 nanometers and below, new-generation timing analysis is essential for delivering the speed and accuracy required for modeling the effects of silicon on circuit performance. We appreciate the confidence shown by Coherent Logix in making GoldTime its timing sign-off solution. We also congratulate the Coherent team on the first-pass silicon success of its design of the hx2100 DSP.”
