MagnaChip Announces Ultra Low Noise Process Technology
MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd., a leading Asia-based designer and manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products for high volume consumer applications, announced that it now offers an ultra low noise process technology with industry leading low flicker noise and no required shift of electrical parameters for industry standard 0.18um 1.8, 3.3, and 5.0 volt and 0.35um 3.3 and 5.0 volt CMOS devices.
Flicker noise is a type of electronic noise caused by fluctuations in the surface channel. It occurs in almost all electronic devices especially at low frequencies. MagnaChip's low flicker noise process can both reduce the chip area of the analog block and improve the output noise of audio and video signals, particularly for semiconductor applications such as audio and video codecs, power amplifiers, regulators and oscillators.
"MagnaChip's ultra low noise process technology demonstrates our ongoing focus on developing leading technology solutions. We expect to further expand our process technology portfolio as we seek to continually understand and address our foundry customers' needs going forward," said Channy Lee, Executive Vice President and General Manager of MagnaChip's Semiconductor Manufacturing Services Division.
