Intuicom, Inc.(tm), a leader in wireless data networks, announced the release of the C1000µ, an ultra-small spread spectrum OEM RF transceiver module with “leap-ahead” performance technology. Designed for integration into military/aerospace instruments and commercial systems where size, weight, and power consumption are critical design issues, the C1000µ is ideally suited for unmanned vehicles, robotics, and portable devices.

“Providing military, aerospace and other OEMs with ‘best-in-class’ performance in a small form factor and at a breakthrough price point was paramount in the development of the C1000µ,” said Karl Tonis, Manager, Government and Defense Systems Group. “Building upon Intuicom’s legacy military product lines, the C1000µ affords the same level of reliability with a landmark performance-to-price ratio.”

Features include:

  • Up to 60 mile LOS range (extendable to “Beyond Line of Sight” with repeaters)
  • Up to 1.2 Mbps data rate
  • Size: 2.00″L x 1.42″W x 0.38″H
  • Wt: 18 grams
  • 128 Bit AES encryption
  • Secure 900 MHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology
  • Single Unit Operation: Configurable as a master, slave, repeater, or slave/repeater
  • Low power consumption (11mA @ 5VDC; idle mode)
  • -40°C to +75°C operation

Price and Availability
The C1000µ is offered in two configurations. Available in late Q2 ‘08, the standard version provides up to 115Kbps throughput for backwards compatibility with legacy Intuicom infrastructure. The high speed 1.2Mbps version will begin shipping in Q4 ‘08. Single unit pricing starts at $400.

Custom Integration Services
For defense contractors desiring to bring their products to market on a “fast track” timeline, Intuicom offers engineering services for custom integration of the C1000µ into OEM systems. Intuicom has expertise in adding application-specific capabilities such as GPS Blue Force Tracking, sensor integration, and multi-port functionality that enables video, PTZ command and control, and remote position reporting from a single radio module.
