GE Fanuc Rolls Out NETernity RM981RC Gigabit Ethernet Switch

With the company's announcement of the NETernity(tm) RM981RC unmanaged Layer-2 Gigabit Ethernet switch, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms continued to broaden its already-extensive range of communications solutions. It is designed to be a cost-effective switch for a broad range of networking applications where high performance and high reliability are important to the application. The 6U VMEbus RM981RC is available in no fewer than nine configurations, with build options specifying number (up to 24) and type (10/100/1000Base T, 1000BaseX or 1000Base SX) of ports, media (fiber, copper or both), front panel and conformal coating.

The RM981RC delivers full L-2 wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet switching, and is available as either a single slot (12-port) or dual slot (24-port) solution. Features include auto address learning, auto address aging and support for Jumbo Frames. Copper and fiber ports may be mixed in groups of four. It is RoHS-compliant.
