ArcSoft, Inc. introduced availability of its Advanced Capture Technologies on Texas Instruments’ (TI) OMAP-DM multimedia co-processors, bringing Face Tracking, Anti-Shaking, Smile Detection, and Blink Detection to 3, 5, and 8 mega-pixel camera phones. See their Face Tracking and Blink Detection demonstrations in TI Booth #1048 at the CTIA 2008, April 1st – 3rd, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Pre-integrated with TI OMAP-DM co-processors, ArcSoft’s Face Tracking offers Face-Prioritized Focus and Aperture settings to improve the quality of portrait shots. Combined with Anti-Shaking, Smile Detection and Blink Detection, OEMs now have the opportunity to create a wide range of innovative solutions addressing different market segments.
“ArcSoft has previously delivered these solutions on TI’s DM350 digital still camera processor, which greatly improves user experience and satisfaction while taking portraits on digital cameras,” said David Cao, VP and General Manager of Mobile Business Group. “Now integrated with Texas Instruments’ leading edge OMAP-DM multimedia co-processors, we are bringing these exciting functions onto higher mega-pixel camera phones.”
“ArcSoft’s Advanced Capture Technologies on OMAP-DM devices is helping TI bring the features and capabilities of highly capable point and shoot digital cameras to the camera phone,” said Jorge Salhuana, camera phone business unit manager, TI. “This will significantly enhance the overall photography experience and success with a mobile device.”
