Sensory, Inc. announced that it is working with Google to greatly simplify user access to the GOOG-411 service through the use of voice commands issued directly to Bluetooth headsets based on Sensory’s BlueGenie(tm) Voice Interface. One simple voice command into BlueGenie-enabled headsets will give users GOOG-411 access to find and connect to any business in the United States – without ever having to touch their phone.
Leading Bluetooth headset manufacturers are rapidly deploying Sensory’s BlueGenie(tm) Voice Interface as a means of controlling and interacting with the headset by voice. These small lightweight devices have few buttons, no keyboard and no display but do contain a microphone and a speaker, making them perfect for a Voice User Interface (VUI). Sensory’s many years of experience in voice interface design and speech technologies have enabled these headsets to be used with a natural voice interface, even in harsh noise environments such as in cars.

The BlueGenie Voice Interface has been designed to use its internal recognition and synthesis for local control, information access, and simple dialing function, as well as the ability to contact handsets and server recognizers for more sophisticated functions or access to larger databases of information. Sensory is working with Google to give the BlueGenie Voice Interface direct voice access to GOOG-411, a free service that connects users with local business information. On a BlueGenie equipped headset users simply say a voice command such as “call GOOG-411″ to dial the service, then say a location and business name or category and Google connects them with their desired destination – all through a voice user interface and free of charge.
According to Todd Mozer, Sensory CEO: “With BlueGenie as a front end and GOOG-411 on the back end, a Bluetooth headset user can safely and easily place calls to businesses across the United States by using their voice, and without having to hit a bunch of buttons to place the call.” Sensory’s first announced customer for BlueGenie is BlueAnt Wireless, a leading Bluetooth headset manufacturer. BlueAnt is deploying a “Call GOOG-411″ voice command on its headset to offer its customers the value obtained by teaming BlueGenie with GOOG-411. BlueAnt expects to release its V1 headset in Q2 2008.
