Frost & Sullivan Offers Radio Frequency Identification Briefing

The Automatic Identification and Security Group at Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce its 2008 Quarterly Analyst Briefing Presentation on the radio frequency identification (RFID) market to be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 AM CST / 11:00 AM EST.

RFID has progressively begun transitioning from being considered a disruptive technology to a more pervasive solution that is being deployed across applications and vertical markets. The presentation aims to analyze the trends associated with this transition within the tags, readers and middleware/software markets and identifies emerging opportunity sectors for the technology in the short term.

This briefing will benefit RFID hardware manufacturers of tags, inlays, readers, printers, and also distributors, VARS, system integrators and software providers by discussing emerging trends and providing forward projections for the North American Passive RFID Market.

Highlights of the briefing include: an analysis of market trends for passive tags, readers and middleware within the North American market, key drivers and challenges, as well as emerging opportunity sectors and insights into short-term market trends for the coming year.

“The future emphasis for RFID is expected to shift towards process-based solutions; however, developing broad-based products for individual applications is not the best way to move forward. End-user processes are highly diverse and require RFID systems to integrate with their existing AIDC infrastructure. Such process-centric solutions need to have high levels of flexibility incorporated into the design to ensure that customized requirements are taken care of,” notes Frost & Sullivan Automation & Electronics Program Manager Priyanka Gouthaman.
