The registration deadline for the 2008 Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) Design Challenge Americas is January 31, 2008. This challenge encourages innovation in environmental design and offers compelling incentives to encourage designers to “go green.” Freescale invites the engineering community to find creative ways to use less energy, limit the environmental impact of existing products, and create new products that help improve the environment. Participants will create innovative, green electronic designs using a select group of solutions from the company’s broad product portfolio. Participants will retain the intellectual property rights to their designs.
All registrants will receive 50 percent off admission to the 2008 Freescale Technology Forum Americas with their completed registration.
The top ten finalists will receive $1,000 each. The first place winner of FTF Americas and all regional FTF Design Challenges will receive $10,000, second place receives $5,000 and third place receives $2,000.
Winners of each regional FTF Design Challenge will be announced at their corresponding Freescale Technology Forum event. FTF Americas takes place June 16-19, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.
Regional first place winners will all be invited to compete against each other for the $50,000 grand prize at the end of the year, bringing the total cash purse for the global winner to $61,000.
