IPextreme Inc, the company bringing famous IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip designers worldwide, announced that CEO Warren Savage will be chairing a panel on IP standards at the IP-based Electronic System Conference and Exhibition in Grenoble, France on December 5th.
Panel Title: Semiconductor IP – Who should be the Standards Torch Bearer?
Many problems in the implementation of semiconductor IP (SIP) into chips can be traced to a lack of standardization in how SIP is developed and transferred to users, and how those users qualify IP and IP vendors. VSIA’s Quality IP metric (QIP) was a good initial step in standardizing IP qualification, but industry acceptance has been slower than desired. Now, VSIA’s work is being transferred to the IEEE. Looking towards both IP technology and business issues, who should be developing the semiconductor industry’s standards for IP development, transfer and integration? What needs to be done to ensure widespread acceptance of these standards by the developer and integrator communities and have them recognized by other industry factions?
- Victor Berman, President and CEO, Improv Systems, Inc.
- Pierre Bricaud, The SPIRIT Consortium and Director, Synopsys Solutions Group IP
- Ian Mackintosh, Chairman and President of OCP-IP
- Bill Martin, General Manger of Mentor Graphics’ IP division
- Jacques Galbrun, Manager of IP Design and Quality, ST Microelectronics
Wednesday, December 5th from 17:50 to 19:00 in the auditorium at the World Trade Center, Grenoble, France.
