Artisan Studio® 6.2, the all-in-one UML, SysML and Architectural Framework tool suite from Artisan® Software Tools used by teams of engineers for the analysis, design and development of complex, mission critical systems, has been short-listed for the Embedded System Product of the Year at the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards 2007.
Artisan Studio 6.2 was short-listed primarily for its comprehensive support of the OMG Systems Modeling Language (SysML). Making use of its powerful domain-specific profiling capability, Artisan Studio 6.2 incorporates a comprehensive SysML Profile which supports the four pillars of SysML – system requirements, behavior, structure and parametric relationships. The Artisan Studio 6.2 SysML Profile directly supports further core SysML elements including requirements, blocks, constraint blocks, value types, item flows and flow ports, adding appropriate new commands, explorer panes and toolbars to the menus. Importantly, the SysML implementation in Artisan Studio 6.2 allows engineers to work with SysML elements and diagrams as new element types and not just as stereotyped UML types, resulting in faster recognition, better usability and ease-of-adoption without compromising compliance to the standard.
With embedded system design typically relying on leading edge software running on processor, FPGA or DSP platforms, the Elektra07 organisers invited companies to enter their most innovative product launches of the past 12 months. Entries included bus-based board systems to single chip system-on-chip designs as well as embedded software ranging from operating systems to development tools.
The winner of the Award will be announced at a Gala Dinner to be held at the Hilton Hotel in London on 12th December 2007.
