Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) was recognized as a leader in the field of High Productivity Computing (HPC) by the readers and editors of HPCwire, an online publication and website portal that covers the entire ecosystem of HPC and champions the annual HPCwire Awards. As the most recognized and accessed news and information site for the HPC community, HPCwire's global readership tops several hundred thousand.

Each year, the HPCwire Readers' Choice Award winners are determined through online polling of the HPCwire audience. According to an announcement from HPCwire issued on Monday, an unprecedented number of readers and editors voted to select this year's winners, who were presented the awards at the 2007 International Conference for High-Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis (SC07) in Reno, NV.

"We're excited to receive the groundswell of support from the global HPC community for our MultiCore Plus software development kit for the PLAYSTATION®3," said Joel Radford, Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Strategic Alliances at Mercury Computer Systems. "Developers who need to extract the highest possible performance will benefit from our proven programming model."

Mercury took the lead in bringing the Cell BE processor into commercial and military markets beginning in June 2005 and has the most comprehensive Cell BE-based hardware and software offering available. Moreover, applications developed and optimized for the PS3 using Mercury's MultiCore SDK can be migrated seamlessly to more sophisticated hardware solutions for applications in aerospace and defense, seismic, semiconductor, life sciences, and more.
