Computer Dynamics Debuts SealTouch-15 Environmentally Sealed Computer

Further extending the broad range of solutions offered by the company for computing in harsh industrial environments, Computer Dynamics, a GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms company, announced the SealTouch-15 rugged flat panel computer in an environmentally sealed enclosure. Unlike competing products, the Ruggedized SealTouch-15 is designed to be capable of being installed on an arm, for example: its NEMA 12 capability does not require it to be panel mounted into a cutout. Moreover, its low weight of just 28 pounds means that it is transportable and capable of being used in multiple locations.

Computer Dynamics NEMA 12 SealTouch-15 EnclosureDesigned to operate in +50° C (122° F) ambient temperatures, the SealTouch-15 features an Intel® Celeron® M 1.5 GHz processor with 512 MBytes DDRAM, 40 GByte hard drive, and Ethernet Integral to the system is a 15-inch, XGA resolution display with a resistive touchscreen for operator interface. Its NEMA 12 (a standard created by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association) environmentally sealed enclosure with corrosion resistance provides protection against falling dirt and is ideal for use in dusty environments.

"The introduction of the SealTouch-15 is a response to specific demand for this level of capability, and broadens our product family to allow us to serve an even wider range of customer requirements."

The SealTouch-15. which complements the company's existing DisplayPac and Wolverine industrial-hardened computers, supports Windows XP, Windows NT and Windows 2000, and is optionally available with a CompactFlash or solid state hard drive for additional resistance to shock and vibration.
