Saifun Licences Pulsic Physical Design Technology
Pulsic Limited, the leader in custom design automation for memory, announced that it has entered into a long-term agreement to licence its leading-edge physical design technology to Saifun Semiconductors Ltd. Yoram Betser, Vice President of Design for Saifun, commented: “Saifun provides flash designs to some of the world’s leading flash manufacturers. After carrying out a detailed evaluation, we chose the Pulsic solution as we believe it will provide us with significant productivity gains in relation to our unique and innovative NROM memory IP.”
The Pulsic technology will be used to help deliver non-volatile memory (NVM) designs and IP based on the unique Saifun NROM(TM) technology. The NROM cell architecture enables lower overall form factors, improved yields compared to stack-die, as well as lower system, operation and maintenance costs.
With nine of the top ten memory manufacturers using Pulsic software in production, Saifun’s endorsement adds to Pulsic’s leadership in this most challenging of design environments.
Memory designers face unique, bleeding-edge design challenges, such as stringent design rules and tough topologies, along with time-to-market and more importantly, time-to-volume demands. Unity(TM), Pulsic’s unique custom design automation solution, has been designed to fit with custom design methodologies that require interactivity and the ability to iterate and accommodate engineering change orders.
