PrismTech Hosts Data Distribution Service (DDS) Webinars

PrismTech(TM), a leader in high-performance middleware and development tools, announced a series of free Data Distribution Service (DDS) webinars through to the end of the year. The webinars will promote DDS middleware technologies and their expanding applicability for data-centric distributed systems in today’s SOA and net-centric applications, share industry best practices and key references, and highlight PrismTech’s OpenSplice(TM) DDS product capabilities: delivering the right information at the right place, at the right-time – all the time.

While the Object Management Group(TM)’s (OMG(TM)’s) DDS standard continues to gain momentum within its traditional core defense and aerospace markets, its applicability as a high performance, real-time Quality of Service (QoS) publish/subscribe message-oriented middleware and data-centric integration infrastructure supporting both Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and net-centric applications is increasingly being recognized. Low-latency, high-throughput data distribution, demanding business event processing, and coherent distributed data management across distributed systems are common problems found in today’s telecommunications, transportation, manufacturing and financial services industries which DDS can easily solve.

As part of the OpenSplice DDS v3 launch, PrismTech is presenting a series of free DDS webinars covering a set of topics ranging from technology specifics, DDS’ applicability use cases, and industry best practices based on our experience deploying these solutions in business- and mission critical applications. The aim is to give a greater understanding of how the rich set of QoS features along with the unparalleled support for the event and data-centric programming model can help in solving the most complex SOA and net-centric issues.

The webinars are led by DDS middleware thought leaders and experienced practitioners including: Dr. Angelo Corsaro – co-chair of the OMG DDS Special Interest Group and the Real-Time Embedded and Specialized Services (RTESS) Task Force, Dr. Doug Schmidt – internationally renowned and widely cited expert on distributed computing middleware, object-oriented patterns and frameworks, and distributed real-time and embedded systems, and Hans van’t Hag – extensive experience in applying an information approach towards mission-critical and real-time net-centric systems and a major contributor to the OMG DDS specification.

“We are very excited to be able to help industry in its quest for the right solution when it comes to delivering the right information at the right place, at the right time – all the time in demanding distributed systems,” said Dr. Angelo Corsaro, Product Marketing Manager, PrismTech. “This series of webinars will be of benefit to both DDS newcomers seeking to educate and familiarize themselves with the technology, and to experienced DDS users wanting to get to most out of their investment.”
