Concurrent Ships Over $1 Million of RedHawk, NightStar to Lockheed

Posted by Ken Cheung in IDE,RTOS on Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR), a leading provider of time-critical Linux(R) operating systems and integrated software and computer solutions for mission-critical applications, announces that in June 2007 it shipped $1M in RedHawk Linux operating system and NightStar development tools for shipboard deployment in support of the Navy’s Cruiser Modernization COTS Refresh 2 program. Concurrent was selected as a supplier for Lockheed Martin’s Aegis Open Architecture program in February 2006.

Aegis is a computer-based weapon system capable of real-time, simultaneous operations against multi-mission threats: anti-air, anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare. Led by Lockheed Martin, the Aegis Open Architecture program aims to move Aegis from a customized system to an open architecture platform through integration of commercial computing technology, allowing the Navy to install software and other technology upgrades faster and cheaper throughout the life of the Aegis fleet.

“We are proud to be a participant in the Aegis Open Architecture program by providing field-proven real-time, deterministic Linux software, tools and support necessary for this mission-critical weapon systems development and deployment,” said Gary Beerman, Marketing Director, Concurrent. “Concurrent will continue to maximize customer value by providing best-in-class long-term real-time solutions in sync with open source standards and select innovations from the Linux community.”

RedHawk Linux provides fast response to external events, optimized interprocess communication, and high I/O throughput needed for time-critical applications. RedHawk Linux, compatible with the popular Red Hat(R) distribution, has gained acceptance as a leading real-time Linux operating system for high-performance applications by customers throughout the world. RedHawk Linux guarantees that a user application can respond to an external event in less than 30 microseconds on a dedicated processor.

Concurrent’s NightStar for RedHawk Linux is a powerful, integrated tool set for developing time-critical applications. NightStar tools run with minimal intrusion, thus preserving application execution behavior and determinism. Users can quickly and easily debug, monitor, schedule, analyze and tune applications in real-time.
