Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a part of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces the release of three new EXP expansion modules for EXP-enabled FPGA development boards:
- The EXP Video Module
- The Analog Devices EXP Adapter Module
- The Interface EXP Module
Developed exclusively to meet the unique requirements of FPGA development boards, the three EXP modules expand the library of off-the-shelf solutions for FPGA designs. EXP adds versatility to designs by enabling expansion interface with FPGA baseboards – including the ability to add application-specific daughter cards that can easily connect to the FPGA I/Os.
Avnet’s design chain experts developed the EXP specification exclusively for the unique requirements of FPGA development boards – to help speed our customers’ time to market. This solution is being adopted by an increasing number of semiconductor suppliers as an off-the-shelf solution that quickly meets their design needs.
EXP-enabled boards allow designers to add functions from a growing list of off-the-shelf EXP modules, or focus efforts on building add-on modules that leverage existing baseboard functions. “The EXP expansion slot helps simplify and speed the design process by providing a very cost-effective way for users to customize designs and modify existing applications,” said Tim Barber, senior vice president of global Xilinx marketing for Avnet Electronics Marketing. “These modules support our commitment to providing solutions and support to help customers and our supplies reduce engineering cycles with their new product introductions.”
