pure-systems Connector for BIRT Simplifies Product Variant Reporting

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in IDE on Tuesday, September 18, 2007

pure-systems has announced a new extension module for the pure::variants variant management toolset - Connector for BIRT. Reporting on portfolios of software variants, commonly found in embedded systems development, becomes significantly easier with the addition of this new module.

BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) is a full-featured open source reporting system based on the popular Eclipse development environment. BIRT has two main components: a report designer and a runtime component that you can add to your application server. BIRT offers users a huge variety of data sources, presentation formats and customization opportunities.

Connector for BIRT enables systems developers to mix and match data from pure::variants and other sources in real-time to enable them to get an accurate and up-to-date snapshot of key management indicators for their product line. Overviews such as these are essential in planning and operating the complex multi-team projects typically found in embedded development.

pure::variants is distributed in the UK and Ireland by Cambridge-based Software Acumen. Please visit the Software Acumen web site for more information, to request a product demonstration or to download an evaluation edition of pure::variants.
