Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) announced that its industry-leading programmable logic solutions for the PCI Express interface will be showcased at the Fall Intel Developer Forum (IDF), September 18-20, 2007 in San Francisco. Attendees can view demonstrations based on Xilinx(R) 65-nm Virtex(TM)-5 FPGAs with integrated blocks for low-power transceivers and the PCI Express(R) interface, and low-cost Spartan(TM)-3 generation FPGAs.
Xilinx enables rapid development of PCI Express applications with protocol packs and ready-to-use development kits. The protocol pack for PCI Express applications includes characterization, interoperability, and compliance reports, intellectual property (IP) cores and technical documentation. Xilinx development kits for PCI Express applications come with out-of-the-box guarantee and include all the components needed to quickly complete a PCI Express design.
Xilinx Booth Demonstrations
- High performance programmable PCI Express design solution:
Demonstration of a high performance 8-lane PCIe integrated Endpoint block IP solution on a Xilinx Virtex-5 LXT device, showcased using an add-in card form factor. Solution highlights a x1-x8 scalable PCIe integrated Endpoint block, leveraging 90 percent area and 60 percent power savings, fully compliant with PCIe specification v1.1.
- Lowest cost programmable PCI Express design solution: Demonstration of Xilinx low cost 1-lane Xilinx(R) LogiCORE(TM) Endpoint PIPE for PCI Express design solution, targeted for a Spartan-3 FPGA with an external PHY interface from NXP Semiconductors, showcased using an add-in card form factor. The solution highlights a x1 Xilinx LogiCORE Endpoint PIPE for PCI Express with a PHY interface, lowest risk path for high-volume applications, fully compliant with PCIe specification v1.1.
