For the first time in WiMAX history, industry leaders will be joining together at the WiMAX World 2007 Conference & Expo to present their perspectives on the first nationwide mobile deployment of WiMAX. The conference, which is being held September 25 to 27 at McCormick Place in Chicago, is offering a total of over 190 speakers, including operators, service providers, vendors and analysts. This makes it the largest WiMAX focused speaker program specifically devoted to the topic of wireless and mobile broadband.
“This year’s program promises to be a unique opportunity to hear from the key players involved in creating a North American mobile WiMAX ecosystem, and to get a first-hand perspective of the benefits that can be derived from it,” said Eliot Weinman, conference founder and co-chair, and president of Trendsmedia. “Senior executives from Sprint, Clearwire, Motorola, Intel, Samsung, Nokia, Siemens and other industry-leading organizations are showing the level of their commitment to the mobile broadband ecosystem by taking part in this year’s event.”
For example, Ben Wolff, CEO of Clearwire, will be providing a keynote address that will outline his company’s vision for WiMAX mobile broadband. Other notable executives on the speaker roster include:
- Sean Maloney, Executive Vice President, General Manager Sales and Marketing Group, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Intel
- Barry West, CTO and president of 4G Mobile Broadband for Sprint Nextel
- Padmasree Warrior, CTO for Motorola
- Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, Executive Vice President and Advisor of Telecommunication Systems Division, Samsung Electronics
- Peter MacKinnon, General Manager of WiMAX, Chairman, LG-Nortel Joint Venture
- Todd Ramsey, General Manager, Global Government Industry, Sales & Distribution, IBM
- Mo Shakouri, VP Corporate Strategy for Alvarion
WiMAX World 2007 will also feature daily executive roundtable discussions that will include many of the industry’s leading analysts, service providers, product vendors and WiMAX users. These discussions will help educate attendees on issues relating to creating successful business models in the development and deployment of WiMAX networks.
In addition to the Mobile Broadband Executive Summit, the show will also feature the WiMAX Solutions Theater, which will be located on the exhibition floor during expo hours on September 26 and 27. This dedicated solutions stage will feature product briefings from 15 of the world’s leading solution providers, enabling attendees to evaluate competing technologies in an educational setting.
As the largest and most established global event devoted to WiMAX, the WiMAX World 2007 Conference & Expo will feature 230+ exhibitors and sponsors — including 35 WiMAX operators and service providers.
