Leading technology companies, including Agilent Technologies, Atmel, Intel, Mentor Graphics, NEC, Renesas, Spansion, TSMC and UMC are scheduled to showcase the latest embedded and design automation technologies at Global Sources’ (Nasdaq: GSOL) Embedded Systems Conference-Taiwan (ESC-Taiwan) and Electronic Design Automation & Test-Taiwan Conference and Exhibition (EDA&T-Taiwan) — Asia’s longest serving technology shows.
The seventh annual ESC-Taiwan and 15th EDA&T-Taiwan are scheduled to run from August 23-24 at the Taipei International Convention Center.
“These are among Asia’s longest-serving and by far the most popular technology events,” said Mark A. Saunderson, President of Global Sources’ Electronics Business Unit.
“Since 1993, Taiwan’s engineers have met global industry experts at EDA&T-Taiwan and ESC-Taiwan,” Saunderson said. “These industry-focused events have been the launching point for some of the world’s most innovative design concepts and technologies. For over a decade they’ve been the premier showcase for Taiwan’s most exciting embedded and design automation solutions.”
Other top semiconductor companies expected to participate include AMD, ARM, Avant Technology, MontaVista Software, National Instruments, Oracle, SanDisk and Tektronix.
Keynote, Summit and Conference Program to Feature Top Industry Experts Saunderson said: “ESC-Taiwan and EDA&T-Taiwan attract some of the industry’s foremost technical experts and design gurus as speakers. Thousands of engineers attended last year, and we expect standing room only once again.”
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s Deputy Director of Product and Design Service Marketing Division, Corporate Development, Dr. Kuo Wu, plans to discuss how to approach design challenges with collaborative ecosystems at the keynote address.
The summit program is to feature leading industry executives who plan to address some of the industry’s hottest topics including:
- “Powering Down” — Speakers include executives from Cadence Design Systems, IntellaSys, Mentor Graphics, MontaVista Software and ON Semiconductor. August 23, 3:00 p.m.
- “Winning the Race for Multimedia Quality” — Speakers include executives from CEVA, Faraday Technology, NXP Semiconductors, Sunplus Technology and Trolltech. August 24, 9:00 a.m.
Top Technology Providers to Participate in ESC-Taiwan and EDA&T-Taiwan Technical Seminars
Leading technology providers are scheduled to address challenges faced by Taiwan’s IC and system designers at the events’ technical seminars.
ESC-Taiwan seminars are scheduled to be hosted by top embedded systems providers including ARM, Future Technology Devices, Plurality and Mentor Graphics. Hosts for EDA&T-Taiwan seminars include leading EDA tool companies, Agilent Technologies, Leadis International, Ansoft and AMD.
“Last year, almost 3,000 design engineers and technical managers visited these important technology events,” said Saunderson. “This year, we expect even more of Taiwan’s design decision-makers to attend as they look to improve their skills and learn about the latest products and solutions.”
ESC-Taiwan is sponsored by Atmel, Renesas and Wind River, while EDA&T-Taiwan is sponsored by TSMC and UMC. The shows open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both events are free to qualified attendees.
