Unicoi Debuts Fusion TCP/IP Stack for Nexperia PNX1500, PNX1700 Processors

Posted by Ken Cheung in Microcontrollers,Networking on Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Unicoi Systems, Inc., a leading provider of real-time voice, video and networking protocols as well as multimedia reference designs, announced that it has released a version of its industry-leading Fusion TCP/IP stack for the Nexperia PNX1500 and PNX1700 families of media processors from NXP Semiconductors.

Featuring the TriMedia CPU core, the PNX1500 and PNX1700 processors are an excellent choice for developing media-based networked devices including IP set-top boxes, digital media adapters, personal video recorders, videophones, IPTVs, advanced home gateways, smart display pads and video conferencing devices. Unicoi’s Fusion Networking Suite, including the Fusion TCP/IP stack, RTP/RTCP, RTSP and SIP protocols, provide Nexperia developers with an unrivaled set of software tools for getting their products to market quickly. Additionally, Nexperia developers will have access to Unicoi’s embedded web browser, security, flash file system and XML software products.

The Fusion TCP/IP stack will be distributed in both binary and source code formats through Momentum Data Systems Inc. (MDS), the leading distributor of software and hardware based reference designs for the Nexperia product family.

“Combining our expertise in streaming multimedia software and reference designs with the media processors from NXP ensures a superior end product for the consumer. Our Fusion Networking Suite is the ideal solution for the PNX1500/1700 as it allows Nexperia developers to deliver their advanced multimedia products quickly and efficiently at the lowest possible cost,” said Greg Coonley, CEO of Unicoi Systems.

“The unique functionality of the PNX1500 and PNX1700 processor families coupled with Unicoi’s industry-proven multimedia software solutions are a perfect match for our existing and future customer base,” said NXP Marketing Manager Sven De Bie. “Unicoi’s scalable, modular software gives our customers the freedom to focus on in-demand features and product differentiation rather than the core protocols required by their applications.”
