“Support for On2 VP6 and VP7 on NXP allows the migration of web-based video playback to devices as consumers want to view their favorite content beyond the PC,” said Matthew Byrne, SVP for mobile and embedded business at On2. “VP6 and VP7 are unsurpassed whether for high resolution playback for IPTV or low bandwidth for mobile video applications. Given the breadth of product platforms NXP supports as a top 10 semiconductor company, quality video playback on such devices is within reach.”
