Fairchild Creates Voltage Translator with Independent-Direction Controls

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Components on Tuesday, July 31, 2007

Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) announces the FXL4TD245, the industry’s first 4-bit, low-voltage dual-supply voltage translator with independent-direction controls. This unique control feature increases design flexibility by allowing designers to control the direction of each bit individually compared to typical configurations that control the direction of bi-directional voltage translators in groups of four, eight or sixteen bits. The FXL4TD245’s wide voltage range of 1.1V to 3.6V simplifies designs and accommodates the voltage requirements of a variety of consumer and industrial applications. In addition, the FXL4TD245’s ultra-compact (2.5mm x 3.5mm) DQFN package provides 65 percent board space savings versus TSSOP packaging, making it ideal for space-constrained ultra-portable, computing and consumer applications.
