Kontron Unveils Fanless 17-inch Panel PC with Resistive Touch Screen

Kontron is proud to release its new 17″ Panel PC with resistive touch screen, the KPC1710RT. The low power design of this industrial grade platform allows for fanless operation, providing a reliable and low-maintenance system. With its widescreen (16:10) format and attractive exterior, it is ideal for interactive applications in retail environments, restaurants, theaters, and theme parks.

Kontron KPC-1710RT fanless, widescreen, wireless-ready 17 inch panel PCThe KPC-1710RT is equipped with a 17″ high brightness (500cd/m2) WXGA TFT LCD and ULV Intel(R) Celeron(R) M 600MHz processor with up to 2GB of DDR memory. Distinct from other Panel PCs currently on the market, KPC-1710 RT’s stylish industrial design and customizable molding and front bezel solutions will provide a tailor-made digital-signage experience for the end user. “The launch of the KPC-1710RT will expand the current range of Panel PC applications and allow them to become an important tool for event marketing” said Mark Kuo, Product Manager of Kontron Asia. In addition to its outstanding appearance, the KPC-1710RT’s five COM ports, four USB 2.0 ports, VGA, and AC’97 audio provide rich multimedia and I/O capabilities. To meet customers’ networking requirements, there are two integrated 10/100 BASE-T Fast Ethernet ports as well as a Mini PCI slot and antenna mount for wireless LAN capability.

For other target markets, Kontron will soon offer a 19″ Panel PC with integrated 1.3 Megapixel CMOS camera.
