ip.access, the market leader in cellular picocell technologies, announces that Chief Technology Officer Nick Johnson will deliver a key conference address at CommunicAsia 2007, the International Communications and Information Technology Exhibition & Conference (19th – 22nd June, Singapore Expo).

The presentation, entitled “Approaches to the Implementation of Femtocells for Pure Cellular Fixed Mobile Convergence”, will be given at the Suntec Centre at 2:00pm on Tuesday 19th June, as part of the CommunicAsia 2007 Summit. The presentation will explore the merits of the four main current approaches – Iub/IP, Flat-SIP, Embedded GAN client and Standard-Iu – and consider the impact of the different implementation approaches on issues such as scalability, support for handover with the macro network, performance over residential grade broadband, security, and bandwidth utilisation.

Now in its 18th year, CommunicAsia is the region’s foremost ICT exhibition and conference, gathering together more than 67, 000 industry professionals and decision makers from over 100 countries, and 13, 000 executives from policy makers, regulators, carriers, ISPs and service providers. Key technology areas to be addressed at the 2007 event include 3G/GPRS/HSPDA, Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and Wi-Fi/WiMAX. ip.access will be exhibiting at the event (stand number 3M1-10).

As part of ip.access’s industry speaking programme, CTO Nick Johnson will also deliver a presentation at the forthcoming International Conference on Home Access Points and Femtocells (3rd – 5th July 2007, Sheraton Skyline Hotel, London). Johnson will be presenting on Tuesday 3rd July at 14:45pm BST on the theme of “Network Interface Options for Home Access Points”. This strategic conference and exhibition will bring together leading players from the operator, analyst, network vendor, software/subsystem and value-added service communities to discuss the implementation, deployment, security, pricing, management and business opportunities for this groundbreaking technology.
