Digital View creates Display Controllers for Harsh Environments

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Industrial on Friday, June 8, 2007

Digital View has introduced a range of products specifically designed for applications which use LCDs in harsh environments. The new products will be welcomed by anyone designing applications for sectors such as aviation and the military.

Designed to aid compliance with standards such as US standards DO160160 (Aircraft) and MIL 901D, the first product in the HE range is the Digital View HE1600. An interface controller for multi-input, general purpose OEM monitor applications, the product offers a wide temperature range (-30 degrees C to +80 degrees C), high vibration tolerance through the use of locking connectors and low mass capacitors, high humidity resistance through the use of conformal coatings, and an input voltage tolerance of at least +/-25%.

Fully buffered, and providing direct analog and digital connection to TFT LCD panels up to UXGA (1600×1200), the HE1600 also offers many other advanced features, including a flexible port architecture that provides inputs for DVI, dual VGA channels, composite, S-Video and component video. Supporting a wide range of 4:3 and 16:9 format panels, the SP-1600 provides exceptional video performance via a new generation video controller coupled with guaranteed high-reliability.
