Elma Unveils Extreme Temperature Light Guides

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Components on Friday, June 1, 2007

Elma Electronic has announced new high-temperature light guides with integrated LEDs. The LEDs are ideal for vapor phase soldering. The Elma light guides can withstand 260 degrees C for 40 seconds, or 200 degrees C for 180 seconds. This represents a substantial improvement in compatible solderability with other components from the previous 235 degrees C and 185 degrees C respectively. They are available in single or dual LED version and vertical and horizontal orientations.

Therefore ESD protection is greatly increased over conventional LED designs. The lightpipes come with or without solder tags, fixing pins and adjacent light radiating covers.
