Sigma Selects Blackfin Processor for 14 Megapixel Digital Camera

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI) announced that Sigma Corporation selected Analog Devices' Blackfin(R) processor for its SD14 digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera. Powered by the unique direct-image capabilities of the Foveon X3 sensor and a Blackfin ADSP-BF561 processor, the SD14 can reproduce high-definition images rich in gradation and three-dimensional detail, because the SD14 directly captures red, green and blue data for every pixel in an image, without loss or distortion.

Fonix Offers VoiceIn for Wii for Nintendo Developers

TSMC Reference Flow 8.0 Includes Clear Shape's InShape

Clear Shape Technologies, Inc., a leader in variability analysis and optimization solutions, announced that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE: TSM), has qualified InShape for 45nm process technology and included it in Reference Flow 8.0. TSMC has very stringent criteria to qualify layout printability checking tools used to ensure printability of nanometer designs. Clear Shape's InShape was qualified for 65nm and 55nm nodes in 2006 and now 45nm. In addition to this qualification, it was also included in Reference Flow 8.0 as a lithography analysis tool to enable litho-aware routing.

Kyocera Rolls Out Quad EMI Filter Array with ESD Protection

Kyocera Corporation is pleased to introduce the KVA21 quad EMI filter array, a compact, RoHS compliant, distributed constant type component featuring both electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in a single package. The new units, measuring only 2.0 x 1.25 x 0.7 mm (typ.), will be available in sample quantities beginning in July, and go to volume production in August.
