Rio Design Automation Inc. will demonstrate RioMagic, package-aware chip design software, in Booth #5982 during the 44th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 4-7 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.

With RioMagic, chip designers can make optimal tradeoffs between the chip layout, wires within the package and PCB connections, ensuring that the chip fits the electronic system. RioMagic determines package escape, routability and parasitics for simultaneous tradeoffs between chip and package design, and offers support for wire bond and flip chip designs. It includes rules-driven I/O sequencing, prototyping and redistribution routing (RDL) support, along with a prototyping capability to predict chip/package cost and complexity estimates for Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
