Mentor Graphics to Moderate DAC Automotive Panel

Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT) announced that Walden C. Rhines, the company chairman and CEO, will moderate the panel “Electronics: the New Differential in the Automotive Industry” on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Diego, CA. The conference runs from June 4 - 8.

The panel, which is designed to appeal to experts and non-experts alike, will explore whether the ability to conceive, design and implement electronic systems is the key competitive differentiator within the automotive industry, or if traditional factors such as styling and manufacturing excellence still apply. The dramatic impact on future automotive electronic technologies as well as the resultant challenges and opportunities presented within EDA will also be highlighted. Panelists include:

  • Andrew Chien — Ricardo Strategic Consulting, Detroit, MI
  • Deepak Goel — Formerly Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI
  • Christopher Hegarty — Infineon Technologies AG, Munich, Germany
  • Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli — Univ. of California, Berkeley, CA
  • Frank Winters — Delphi Electronics and Safety, Kokomo, IN
