CoWare(R), Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, announced that its Virtual Platform Product Family was given the Excellence Award in the design environment & development tools category at the 14th annual LSI of the Year Award ceremony. Hosted by Sangyo Times and Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd., the awards were presented on May 16, the opening day of the Embedded Systems Expo and Conference (ESEC) in Tokyo, Japan. CoWare’s newest product family has been honored with a number of awards since its introduction in March 2006.
Established in 1994 to promote market development and technology in the semiconductor industry, the LSI of the Year Awards acknowledge the most remarkable LSI products and technologies and the best design environment & development tools from the previous year. This year, from among the hundreds of product submissions, ten products were selected for different levels of awards in the two categories-”devices” and “design environment & development tools”. The CoWare Virtual Platform was one of five products selected in the latter category and it received the Excellence Award.
“We are very proud to accept this prestigious award as it confirms what the design community is telling us about our new ESL design solution,” said Marc Serughetti, CoWare director of marketing. “Timely software development has become a key competitive issue for many of our customers’ designs today. Our new ESL design solution is unique in providing a comprehensive software design environment and a go-to-market vehicle for these companies.”
About CoWare Virtual Platform Product Family
Companies producing electronic devices in the consumer, mobile and wireless, networking, and automotive markets are facing the challenge of an exponential increase in the software content of their products. CoWare’s new product family addresses this challenge. Virtual platforms for software development are fast and scalable models of the system hardware, including the device hardware and the environment it evolves in. Unlike traditional software methods, virtual platforms combine execution speed, early availability, controllability, observability, and determinism with pre- and post-silicon usability. CoWare’s Virtual Platform Product Family delivers tools and services for the creation, distribution, and use of virtual platforms for software development to leading semiconductor and electronic device companies worldwide. The product family is integrated with and supports the CoWare platform-driven ESL strategy.
CoWare is the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services.
