Catalyst Semiconductor Introduces 4 Voltage Supervisors

Posted by Ken Cheung in Components on Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (NASDAQ:CATS) a supplier of analog, mixed-signal and non-volatile memory semiconductors continues to rapidly expand its family of voltage supervisors with four new devices that give designers industry-standard performance for monitoring the power supply (Vcc) status of a microprocessor, microcontroller, ASIC or other system processor. The CAT853, CAT863, CAT859 and CAT869 extend Catalyst’s family of industry-standard supervisor circuits, providing an even broader range of pin combinations to meet the diverse application requirements of the embedded control market.

All four of Catalyst’s new voltage supervisors are available in 3-lead SOT-23 packages. The CAT853 and CAT859 pin configuration is set as: Pin 1: reset; Pin 2: ground; Pin 3: supply voltage. The CAT863 and CAT869 pin configuration is set as: Pin 1: reset; Pin 2: supply voltage; Pin 3: ground.

Catalyst’s new microprocessor supervisors are available in standard threshold levels of 2.93V, 3.08V and 4.38V. The CAT853 and CAT863 feature an open-drain output, active low function. The CAT859 and CAT869 offer a push-pull output, active low function. The devices are pin-for-pin compatible with Microchip, STMicro and other industry-standard supervisors.
