Strategic Test Updates Linux Drivers for UltraFast Waveform Digitizer
Strategic Test Corp. has announced new and updated Linux drivers for its range of UltraFast Waveform Digitizer, Arbitrary Waveform Generator and fast Digital I/O boards. The new drivers include 64-bit versions for the RedHat, SuSe and Fedora distributions, together with updates for their 32-bit drivers that support kernels 2.4 and 2.6.
The following Linux distributions are currently supported:
| Suse 9.0 | 2.4.21 | 32-bit |
| Suse 9.1 | 2.6.4 | 32-bit |
| Suse 9.3 | 2.6.11 | 32-bit |
| Suse 10.0 | 2.6.13 | 32-bit and 64-bit |
| Suse 10.1 | 2.6.16 | 32-bit and 64-bit |
| Suse 10.2 | 2.6.18 | 32-bit and 64-bit |
| Redhat 9.0 | 2.4.20 | 32-bit |
| Fedora Core 3 | 2.6.9 | 32-bit |
| Fedora Core 4 | 2.6.11 | 32-bit |
| Fedora Core 5 | 2.6.15 | 32-bit and 64-bit |
| Fedora Core 6 | 2.6.18 | 32-bit and 64-bit |
| Debian Sarge | 2.4.27 | 32-bit |
| Debian Sarge | 2.6.8 | 32-bit |
The driver source code is available upon request. This is important since the transition from 2.4 to 2.6 kernels may cause the user to recompile the driver on their host PC, particularly if they have modified the distribution for multi-processor operation. It can also be used to port the driver to other Linux distributions such as Scientific Linux and operating systems including VxWorks.
The same simple programming concept is found in all Windows and Linux drivers, allowing customers to upgrade their OS without modifying their application code.
In line with the company's policy of free-of-charge lifetime software updates, the drivers can be downloaded from the company website support area.
